Spay/Neuter Voucher Program

When dogs or cats need spay/neuter surgery before the next scheduled S/N Truck, or owners wish to take them to the clinic themselves, they can purchase vouchers-for surgery only- from HSRC at the clinic’s non-profit rescue prices. Vouchers are $25.00 for cats and $35.00 for dogs, and must be used at Sheets Pet Clinic in Greensboro, NC. The Humane Society accepts only cash or money order.

The vouchers are redeemed at the time of surgery, and the clinic bills HSRC for the cost of basic surgery only. Additional costs associated with surgery, vaccines, testing, medications, etc. will be the responsibility of pet owners, and be paid directly to the clinic.

Pet owners who purchase a voucher, must contact the clinic at
(336) 852-8488 to make an appointment and schedule any additional procedures.

Pets Spay/Neuter Assistance

The Humane Society of Randolph County-an all volunteer, non-profit organization-has contracted with the West Wendover Spay-Neuter Clinic to provide affordable spay/neuter and vaccinations to clients in Randolph County.

Animals are transported to the clinic from a specified location in Asheboro and returned the following day, to the same location.
To further lower the cost to the public, the Humane Society subsidizes the cost of each surgery with funds we raise through various activities. Each client is limited to four animals per transport. To date, more than 500 animals have been spayed or neutered through this service.

In the current economic times, we have found it necessary to increase the price of surgery for dogs to $35.00 per animal, but the price for cats will remain at $25.00. Clients who receive Medicaid may send their pets for even less.

If owners cannot provide proof that their pets have current rabies vaccinations, the clinic will vaccinate them for $10.00. Additional vaccines are $10.00 apiece, and other services are available at additional cost.

Pets must be transported in hardshell crates, but feral cats must be in traps. If you are using your own crate, please label it with your personal contact information. The Humane Society has some crates that we can lend to those who do not have one and cannot borrow one.

Aggressive animals should be taken to a veterinarian for surgery.
Clients must be at the transport location by 7:15 am on the day of the transport, so they can check-in, and pay for the services. They must stay with their animals until they are loaded on the truck and the return time for the next day is announced. Remember we are all volunteers, and some of us may be working the truck for the first time. We appreciate your patience.

People who schedule their pets for the truck and find they cannot participate, should call and cancel as soon as possible, so someone else can participate. If they fail to do so, they will not be able to use the program in the future.

To register for this program, call 629-PETS (7387) and leave your information on line one for cats and line 2 for dogs. A volunteer will call you a couple of weeks prior to the transport on which your pet will be scheduled. We are often scheduled a couple of months ahead.

Trucks for 2009 are planned for the fourth Monday/Tuesday of the month in the following months: February, March, May, June, September, and October.

The Humane Society of the Piedmont narrowed its focus to spay/neuter services because we believe this is the most important issue facing animals in the foreseeable future. The clinic was built four years ago to serve citizens in Guilford and surrounding counties who want their animals to be well-cared-for.  We want to ensure that no animals come into the world without a home and someone who loves them.
